New York based photographer Jonathan Bookallil is best know for his graphic portrait style fashion and celebrity photographs. Born in Australia of a well respected fashion editor Jonathan grew up surrounded by the fashion industry.

Moving to London at 19 to assist top photographers, he was soon shooting for himself to much success contributing to Elle, Sky, Maria Claire and Cosmopolitan. After stints in Paris and Milan, he fulfilled a lifelong dream and relocated to New York in the late 90’s and was regularly shooting for US Cosmopolitan, Lee Jeans and Wrangler while continuing to work in London shooting international campaigns for Harrods, Pringle of Scotland, Accessorize and Monsoon. In 2003 Jonathan returned to Australia to be with his family and started shooting for Harpers Bazaar, Vogue and Russh while living at Bondi Beach. He also shot multiple national campaigns for Just Jeans and Portmans.

Several years later the lure of New York proved too much and he moved back to the city where he now resides in his Soho loft shooting celebrities such as Elizabeth Hurley, Heidi Klum, David Beckham, Victoria Beckham and DJ Chelsea Leyland with clients such as Hanes, Wonderbra Barely There,JC Penny, Karen Millen and the Camuto Group keeping him busy. He is also a regular contributor to Essence, Relapse and Untitled magazines.
