Narain holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts from New York University. He joined the Jashanmal Group [4] in 2004 as a Department Store Manager and subsequently moved into the Newspapers & Periodicals (NPP) and Books [5] Division in 2005 and became the General Manager in 2007. In 2009 he added the Overseas Courier Services [6] division to his portfolio.
 
Additionally he is responsible for the Group’s Corporate Communications.
 
In his time with the company Narain has driven substantial growth in the print media sales through both winning business from major new clients such as Dubai Duty Free and ITP Publishing and business model innovation by introduction of a category management service to major retailers such as Spinneys, Carrefour and Kinokuniya. In 2008 he led the negotiations with Lagardere Services to win the regional franchise rights to the RELAY travel retail concept and later that year successfully won a bid to operate 5 RELAY stores at Abu Dhabi International Airport. He has piloted the Group’s ecommerce and digital marketing initiatives and is a frequent panelist and public speaker on topics related to retail, technology and the print media sector.
He recently invested in Growl Media a Dubai-based startup that develops reading and learning apps for children as well as JBC Lucrae a fragrance and beauty retail firm.
