BIOGRAPHY
 
Voted “Designer of the Year” thrice in a row, by Grazia, for 2011 ,2012 and 2013, Essa Bhagoorwala is of Indian origin, but Arab sensibilities, as he was born and bred in the United Arab Emirates.
 
After graduating with an MBA in marketing management and economics, Essa honed his skills with traditional pattern cutters and tailors in Dubai. An insatiable appetite for fashion pushed his creativity which knows no formal rules nor traditional concepts.

BRAND CONCEPT
 
Vintage fabrics, sourced from Asia and Europe, and rare vintage trims, are just some of the materials that Essa seamlessly works together to draw attention to, as well as enhance, the feminine form. Pioneering a determined new generation of stylishly hip fashion designers emerging in the Middle-East, Essa instills in his wearers the allure of a bird-of-paradise.
 
From the first ever comprehensive integration of the ghutra in futuristic seams, desert paradise neon kaftans in iridescent bedu regalia, to volumetric neoprene and the infinite saturation of hues engulfed in layers of transparent chiffon, Essa’s designs consistently try to weave together the traditional and the modern by relying on materials and prints that have iconic cuts and are universally flattering.
