BIOGRAPHY

Zayan Ghandour was born in Beirut, Lebanon. She began designing limited edition one-off T-shirts while writing for the Daily Star newspaper (an affiliate of the Herald Tribune), before moving to Dubai in 2000 and retailing at one of the most prominent multi-brand boutiques.

In 2004, she co-founded s*uce; an award-winning fashion and lifestyle concept, and soon assumed the role of head buyer and creative director. In 2011, Zayan returned to her true passion: fashion design, launching her eponymous label, Zayan, during Paris Fashion Week. By the second season, Zayan was stocked in 14 locations worldwide.

An established regional mentor for young talent, Zayan speaks regularly at luxury, fashion and design forums and has co-founded the fashion distribution agency, Two Scoops.

BRAND CONCEPT

Dangerously flirtatious and determinedly girly, Zayan Ghandour’s contemporary luxury ready-to-wear designs revel in the splendor of premium silks and crochet knit fabrics, in vivid colors and innovative billowing silhouettes. Ghandour’s designs feature lots of gorgeous details such as metallic lace, cutout tulle, pearl collars, and bursts of eye popping neon colors. A decidedly feminine spirit informs every collection, be it through the dainty use of a signature narrative, an unexpected design twist or a bright pop of color where you least expect it. Every season, a tale of love and light is unraveled, and the delight is always in the detail.

She admits, “I dream up clothes I would love to wear myself!”
