ESMOD Beirut graduate Lobnan Mahfouz has pursued his career in fashion enterprises in Turkey, India, and China before launching his unisex aseasonal brand /Pər’vərs/ inspired by the melting pot of genders and ethnic backgrounds providing distinctive pieces targeting ventrous individuals around the globe.
Beirut-based, Bashar Assaf graduated from ESMOD Beirut before working as a designer and stylist between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia before being chosen as a Starch Foundation designer. His three collections produced with Starch lead to a nomination by Elle Style awards for “Best Upcoming Fashion Designer in the Middle East”. Since then, Bashar’s work lead to Lebanon’s representation for the International Woolmark Prize, participation in a Wallpaper Magazine exhibition, and a collection launched in Paris.
After completing a Master’s degree in Visual Communication Design at the University of Alberta, Canada, Salim Azzam returned to Beirut to use his design and illustration skills to document spoke traditional stories and local customs before joining the Starch Foundation.
Salim looks to exhibit these stories and customs in a new context through hand-embroidering designs and illustrations on shirts and dresses allowing local craftswomen to tell their own stories with their needles and threads, echoing the village’s voice in the fashion world.
