Godfrey Deeny is the Global Editor-in-Chief of Fashionnetwork.com, the Reuters of fashion based in Paris and France’s leading fashion website. Godfrey has reviewed the menswear, women’s wear and haute couture runway seasons of London, Milan, Paris and New York for over two decades. During his distinguished career, he has held the following senior positons: Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Hommes International, Paris Bureau Chief of Women’s Wear Daily, Editor-in-Chief of Fashion Wire Daily, Men’s Fashion Critic of The Financial Times, and Fashion Editor at Large of French daily Le Figaro. Godfrey has interviewed pretty well every designer of note, and can address all major luxury executives on a first-name basis. Godfrey has also covered the major international fashion seasons of such far flung cities as Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Beijing, Moscow, Barcelona and Sydney. Born in Ulster and fluent in French and Italian, Godfrey is a frequent commentator on fashion television programs and a fashion authority on E Entertainment’s panel of style and luxury experts. Godfrey is a jury member of the following prestigious awards: the LVMH Prize in Paris; the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), the Oscars of fashion; Who is On Next, Italy’s top award for young talent founded by Vogue Italia; The Fashion Awards of the British Fashion Council; and The International Woolmark Prize.
He is also the Editor-in-Chief and joint owner of Sepp, the original football fashion magazine. Sepp brings together bold face name designers and top models with the energy and panache of the beautiful game. Sepp is a stand-alone title, a collectors’ item produced every two years for the planet’s two major soccer tournaments – The World and The European Championships. He is already prepping Sepp 2022 for the Qatar World Cup.
Ritu Upadhyay is the Middle East correspondent for Women’s Wear Daily (WWD). Often referred to as “the fashion bible,” WWD has been THE industry voice of authority for the global fashion, retail and beauty communities for over 100 years. Ritu covers the business side of retail and fashion along with trends and runway shows, bringing together a unique understanding of both the creative and commercial sides of the fashion industry. For the last ten years, she has covered international runways shows in emerging markets, reporting on new design talent, as well as breaking news on retail markets across the Middle East. She has profiled fashion luminaries including Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford, Christian Louboutin, Elie Saab and as well as traveled to factories across India to report on manufacturing and skilled artisans. Ritu studied journalism and political science at Northwestern University. She began her career at the newsweekly, TIME Magazine in New York and has authored a biography on President John F. Kennedy. In addition to WWD, she has covered the Middle East for Bloomberg TV. Born and raised in Chicago, Ritu has lived in New York, India, Jordan and Pakistan, and currently divides her time between Washington D.C. and Dubai.
