The Best of FFWD SS17

FFWD welcomed a record number of attendees this season, as over 10,000 industry leaders, fashion professionals, media, influencers and buyers hit FFWD’s bespoke venue Hai d3 to enjoy a three-day schedule of runway shows and presentations by 33 regional ready-to-wear and couture designers, view 14 accessory labels at The Showcase, partake in engaging talks and panel discussions, as well as attend networking and social events.

It’s fantastic to have FFWD here in the Middle East, the platform has really given the region something new and fresh, and is a fantastic outlet for the amazing talent the Middle East has to offer. It has been wonderful to meet all the designers and attend their shows. During my talk it was interesting to engage with young designers and learn about their business and passion.
— Farida Khelfa

Feedback received from designers, partners, regional and international guests speaks volumes to the dedication FFWD, together with the support of d3 and DDFC, have invested to follow Dubai’s mandate to establish the city as the creative hub in the Middle East.

This kind of initiative is a very optimistic addition to the fashion field in the region, and internationally, so when I was invited to talk here I was very honored. I appreciate the designers work which underlines their heritage and traditions, and shows how proud they are of where they are from and what they do.

Madiso has been part of Fashion forward since Season 2, and the event has always been extremely successful for us. It is a great platform for the fashion industry in this region. FFWD Season 7 had international fashion buyers in attendance, which I believe is a great foot forward, and Moda Operandi, one of the biggest retailer names in the fashion industry, selected us for a trunk show. I’m extremely grateful to Fashion Forward for giving us this platform where we can interact with such huge international names.
