David Dessureault, Division Manager and Senior Buyer, Saks Fifth Avenue ME, has been the senior buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue Middle East and Dolce & Gabbana boutiques for the past seven years. Through his buys at Saks, the first luxury department store in Dubai, he was successful in introducing numerous new brands for the first time to the UAE market.
With Previous experience at the Prada headquarters in Milan, where he assumed the role of retail merchandising manager for leather goods, he bought handbags and small leather goods for all the North American Prada stores. Through this role he was able to work closely with the Tuscany design office on new products and exclusive styles for the USA market.
Prior to this and since 1999, Dessureault has lived in Paris where he managed a multi-brand showroom with fashion guru Jean-Claude Chiroutte. There, they presented new talents from emerging countries and hosted buyers from all over the world, allowing them to successfully sell to renowned international stores.
In Montreal, where David grew up, he obtained a Fashion Marketing diploma at the LaSalle College. On completion, he went to New York City where he achieved a certificate in Buying and Merchandising from the world-acclaimed Fashion Institute of Technology.
As an enthusiastic collector of antiques, Dessureault enjoys spending his free time in the Middle East souks and whenever he has a spare moment he loves to escape to his Paris pied-a-terre to enjoy the French art-de-vivre.
